Portraits and References

I will always demand the best possible reference when doing tattoo portraits or references - preferably in the highest resolution possible and where there is good contrast and depth in the image.

For tattoo portraits of relatives specifically, I recommend to book an appointment with a professional photographer for the best possible result. Tell your photographer that the images will be used to make a tattoo portrait (This may also apply to e.g. dog portraits or the like). Here, I can highly recommend ROCKMOOR FILMS as a professional photographer for your portraits and references. Here you also get 15% discount.

When choosing references, I'm always a bit picky because this will help influence the final result. For example, if you bring me a reference of a lion, I will often find another reference of a lion myself. This is to best determine what works in terms of angles, the location of the tattoo, details, contrast, shadows and what is best suited for your particular skin type.

Still eager on doing a tattoo portrait or reference by me? Then please rely on my guidance. This is simply because I want the best for you.

I strongly recommend that you make your initial preparation to your best abilities before booking a tattoo session. To help you get a head start, I've put together a portfolio showing my work and a list of frequently asked questions on my FAQ page. Here, you can immerse yourself in the necessary information, read more about my tattoo style and prepare before and after a tattoo session with me.
