"Be Unique"
Far, far away in the darkest corners of Jutland, Denmark, I grew up in the middle of nowhere on a farm, with nothing to do but draw and find peace in the best horror movies the ’80s and ’90s had to offer. I fell in love with the aesthetic of old horror films, the dramatic black-and-white contrasts and eerie atmosphere captivated me.
As I got older, I applied to The Drawing Academy to study and refine my skills. My passion for classical drawing grew stronger, so I packed up my sketchbooks and skull collection and moved to Copenhagen to study at the Classical Drawing School. During this time, I met animator Darren Kordich, who began mentoring me at the Art Academy, teaching me about design, animation, sculpture, and more.
At this point, my entire life revolved around creating art, and I even started getting art tattooed on my skin. That fascination naturally led me to the idea of creating my art on skin with body as a canvas. Thanks to my years of studying classical art, I understood shading techniques and how to make tattoos look realistic. That became my gateway into the tattoo world. But after years of doing realistic tattoos, I felt the urge to break free and return to drawing, developing my own style and reconnecting with the things that first drew me to art: darkness and horror.
Over time, I refined my style, blending my love for horror and surrealism with skulls and abstract shapes, shaping it into my own gothic, surrealistic horror tattoos.
In 2021, I opened up my own studio, The Dark Gallery, allowing me to dive deeper into my creative, dark visions. Here, I have some of my paintings showcased for a daily dose of inspiration, always cooking up new ideas for upcoming tattoos.
In the dim-lit corridors of our studio, my wife and shining light, Linn, assumes the role of shop manager. She's the one who keeps everything running smooth like a cat's purr, making sure our dear customers feel right at home and that all their needs are taken care of while they're guesting our creative sanctuary.
