Preparation (Before Session)
Before a tattoo session, you must prepare before you show up. Here's what I want from you:
-
Be open-minded to my design ideas and listen to the guidance I give you. I work on this every day and want to make durable and beautiful work of art for you.
-
Be well rested: get a good night's sleep before your tattoo session.
-
Eat well before your session - remember breakfast and packed lunch for the rest of the day to keep your blood sugar stable.
-
Bring sugary drinks and snacks. Due to the adrenaline in your body, your blood sugar will fluctuate. You may be dizzy and faint at worst. Prevent it by drinking something sugary and eating something while getting a tattoo.
-
A tattoo takes time and should not be rushed, so prepare to sit still for a long time.
-
The tattoo is designed just for you, so you do not have to listen to your friends or family. They are not the ones to get tattooed. Listen to the advice and guidance I give you.
Does it hurt getting a tattoo?
Yes, a tattoo can be felt, and the pain differs from person to person. The pain also depends on where on the body you get tattooed. However, it can be controlled, as it will hurt less if you focus on, for example, your breathing or remove focus from the pain. Furthermore, diet, sleep, and lifestyle also play a role here.
Bringing family or friends to your tattoo session may seem like a great idea for moral support and to take away your focus. However, this is not the case, as you often become more vulnerable to people you know, making it harder to ignore the feeling of being tattooed, so consider going to your tattoo session alone - and always follow the tattoo artist's guidelines.
